LOST SOUL:

Verse 1:
They remember when you came into their life:
Eagerly anticipated by a husband and wife…
All the love they felt, watching you become
Everything they ever could have hoped for in a son!
Through the later years they drifted apart:
And left you with the fears of a young, foolish heart!
Chorus:
So you came to me, you wanted ecstasy,
And an escape from the barren landscape
Of your lonely mind…
What did you think you would find?
Verse 2:
Now they are afraid the phone is gonna ring…
And they’ll hear their pride and joy was picked up in a sting!
Or worse, that you have died, somewhere in misery:
That isn’t what they’d planned for their child’s legacy.
But they couldn’t hide from simple truth:
They knew they had lied, and cost their son his youth!
Chorus 2:
When you came to me, you wanted ecstasy,
And an escape from the world’s cruel rape
Of your lonely mind…
What did you think you would find?
Verse 3:
They had their times too, and it taught you how
People cope with life: But where are you now?
Watching their mistakes should’ve helped you learn:
There ain’t no way to play with fire and not get burned!
Now it is your choice, to find your way home:
Listen for God’s voice on that distant path you roam!
Final chorus:
If you stay with me, for the illusion of ecstasy,
You’ll never find escape from the coalescing shape
Of judgment in your mind:
Do you know at all what you’re tryin’ to find?
